“Gemma saw how much I was struggling with my rescue dogs after a relationship breakdown. They are aggressive with dogs and people. Gemma is far more than a dog behaviourist/trainer, she is a hope restorer. I can come in with tears and feelings of despair of coping with rescues which is isolating, and I feel like I’m not doing enough. However, Gemma does not judge, works with exactly where you are at, and is compassionate and understanding. She will challenge and let me know if there are better ways to do something, but also understanding of what I can manage. As I speak to Gemma, I hear I am doing more than I think. She helps me to help my dogs to feel safe, and is full of ideas and reassurance. I leave lighter, with a little more rope to the end of my tether. Gemma, I appreciate your support at this time and look forward to our sessions. I would recommend Gemma to anyone who needs helps. She is honest, personable, and really understands attachments and how to work with your dog with kindness. From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU from me, Polly and Basil.”

Stirring In Some Science
I've learnt that digging deeper, uncovering the workings of the dog's nose, the body, brain, and the science of dog training itself helps make things better

Hi, I’m Gemma Forde
Gemma is an explosives detection dog handler and trainer of Springer Spaniels at Zuri Dog K9.
She works for several clients across the UK with her own detection dogs, and her broad and wide-ranging experience helps her deliver a unique and tailored approach to her pet-owning clients.
In 2019, Gemma became the first-female and first non-military explosives detection dog handler for a major international corporation, fulfilling a personal ambition and opening opportunities for others to do the same. While working for that same client, she was part of the frontline security operation while London Bridge was under a terror attack in November 2019. She describes the experience as disturbing and something she keeps in her mind to push her to do better when she trains her detection dogs. Just because terror attacks are rare, she doesn't take it for-granted.
Gemma runs a dog training business and helps clients who are often at the end of their line with their dogs. She credits many worthwhile lessons to her clients who help to find better ways of helping them to make life with their dogs more manageable.
Gemma has developed her Nose to Heart Dog Training Method based on years of experience, lessons from her dogs, from those she deems as major inspirers in the dog training world, from lessons in science, and her clients who teach her lessons with every fresh challenge they present.
